Tarntipi Exhibition

The Tarntipi exhibition consisted of words and photographs developed through a nine-year connection and collaboration with Tiwi Elder and cultural educator, Edward ‘Teddy’ Portaminni. This extended and profoundly intimate body of work revolves around the photographer’s transformative experience of Country, showcasing the deep and enduring nature of the bonds the Portaminni family share with their Ancestral lands. The exhibition ran from November 10-30, 2024 at Magnet Galleries Melbourne, with the opening including a Welcome from Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Ian Hunter. The exhibition included a special workshop on cross-cultural communication hosted by the collaborators on November 14.
