Tarntipi Exhibition

The exhibition Tarntipi emerged through a nine-year connection and collaboration between the photographer and Tiwi Elder and cultural educator, Edward ‘Teddy’ Portaminni. In addition to celebrating the completion of their co-authored artist’s book, the exhibition was devised with the intention of sharing a uniquely intimate body of work showcasing the photographer’s transformative experience of Country, and the enduring bonds that Teddy and his family share with their Ancestral lands. The exhibition extended from November 10-30, 2024 at Magnet Galleries Melbourne with the opening event occurring on Sunday November 10 and featuring a Welcome by Wurundjeri Elder, Uncle Ian Hunter. The exhibition included a special workshop on cross-cultural communication hosted by the collaborators on November 14.
