The Fox Breath collection describes the photographer’s connection with Raglan – a rural community in Western Victoria. Originating from a personal relationship shared with the Wilkinson family, this connection developed with successive invitations to photograph other residents and families in the area. Inspired by an earlier photographic survey of the region, Walton-Healey conceptualised Raglan in terms of place and face, with the resulting portraits and landscapes comprising the content of his first solo exhibition. With the support of The Pyrenees Advocate, and RMIT Link Arts & Culture, Fox Breath exhibited at the Raglan Community Hall in December, 2011. An extended selection of landscape photographs were published in the Gallery of the literary journal Meanjin the following year.
